How to Set up MyGov ID

Step 1 – Get My Gov ID

It is an absolute pain to set up MyGovID.  I hate it!

Don’t start this process when you are short of time or a bit stressed – it just won’t work – I know first-hand!

The replacement for AusKey is MyGovID.  It is a business level Government access tool.   It is different to MyGov for Centerlink which is for personal use.

Part 1

Install MyGovID on your phone

a. Add in your passport  (more fiddling around)  – I recommend typing the details

b. Add in your drivers licence  (even more fiddling around) – I recommend typing the details

Part 2 

Set up an account on www.mygovid.gov.au from your computer.

Part 3

Go to https://info.authorisationmanager.gov.au/ and link your company to your MyGovID Account

a. As you log in you need to log in from BOTH your phone and computer and match a 4 digit number and accept on the phone to gain access!

b. there are a few steps here – I might need to do a screen share with you at this point

BAS and IAS Lodgement 

To lodge BAS & IAS you then go to https://bp.ato.gov.au/ to get to the system you used to use before.

c. As you log in you need to log in from BOTH your phone and computer and match a 4 digit number and accept on the phone to gain access!
